High speed driving stability of road vehicles under crosswinds: an aerodynamic and vehicle dynamic parametric sensitivity analysis

چکیده

Crosswinds affect vehicle driving stability and their influence increase with speed. To improve high speed stability, interdisciplinary research using unsteady aerodynamics dynamics is necessary. The current demands of faster development times require robust virtual methods for assessing performance in early design phases. This paper employs a numerical one-way coupling between the two disciplines uses variety realistic crosswind gust profiles aerodynamic simulations to output representative forces moments on three dynamic models different fidelity levels, ranging from one-track model full multi-body sports utility vehicle. Stability measurement of high-speed vehicles

Vehicle rollover represents a significant percentage of single-vehicle accidents and accounts for over 9000 fatalities and over 200,000 non-fatal injuries each year. Previous research has yielded rollover stability control systems that are effective in on-road conditions.Accident statistics show, however, that over 90% of rollovers involve road departure, during which a vehicle may encounter sl...

Lateral Stability Analysis of High-Speed Railway Vehicle on Curve

A vehicle body, two bogie frames and two wheelsets for each bogie frame are used to describe the railway vehicle model. The system dynamic is modeled using a 38-DOF system including the longitudinal, lateral, vertical, roll, pitch and yaw displacements. A heuristic nonlinear creep model and the elastic rail are used to simulate the wheel-rail contact. Stable movement and the corresponding limit...

Dynamic Analysis of High Speed Rail-Vehicle Collisions

In the event of a collision between a traveling, high speed train and a vehicle, the scale of human fatality and property damage can increase substantially if the train derails from its track after impact. Hence, it is important to identify the conditions and factors that may potentially lead to derailment in the event of a train-vehicle collision incident at a highway rail grade crossing. This...
